Inspired by African Interiors

A cruel yet beautiful land,
where extremities are expected and contradictions are avoided.

A vast and vibrant continent, young in it's learnings.
Where cultures slowly combine as borders are crossed.

An eager terrain crawling with life,
yet starving it's inhabitants at times of need.

Volatile and spontaneous, electric skies pass over dry river beds.
An environment that is unkind to the weak.

Africa's people have accepted their soil,
into their bones and into their homes.

These ceramic pieces have been inspired by a book called African Interiors by Taschen that graces our coffee table at the Booola headquarters.
Beulah, the ceramist, has found inspiration in the pages of this book which captures the beauty and essence of the homes in Africa.

  1. These are absolutely beautiful! One of these most beautiful African days, I will own one of your plates. Well, I already do (a Gift from Wilna), but I mean a big one to take up a table and make a statement of beauty.

  2. Thank you Nadya! Hopefully you will have another one soon to add to your collection that Wilma started :)

  3. These are so beautiful! I'm so glad we were able to connect on ifb - Great blog!
